These quick and easy turkey and cheese roll-ups come together in under 10 minutes with simple ingredients. Perfect for bento box lunches, picnics, or busy days when you need a satisfying, crowd-pleasing meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 810 slices deli turkey
  • 46 slices cheese (provolone, cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella)
  • 23 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 46 lettuce leaves (optional)
  • 12 teaspoons mustard or mayonnaise (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste (optional)
  • Fresh herbs like basil or chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes or microwaving for 10-15 seconds on low power.
  2. Lay one flour tortilla flat on a cutting board. If cold, warm in the microwave for about 10 seconds until pliable.
  3. Spread a thin, even layer of softened cream cheese over the entire tortilla, leaving about half an inch around the edges uncovered.
  4. Place 2-3 slices of turkey evenly over the cream cheese, overlapping slightly to cover without gaps.
  5. Lay 1-2 slices of cheese on top of the turkey, covering most of the turkey without hanging over the edges.
  6. If using lettuce, pat dry with a paper towel and place a few leaves on top of the cheese.
  7. Starting from one edge, tightly roll the tortilla away from you, using your fingers to keep the filling tucked in. Apply gentle but firm pressure.
  8. Wrap each completed roll tightly in plastic wrap or parchment paper, twisting the ends like a candy wrapper. Refrigerate for at least 15-20 minutes (or 10 minutes in the freezer).
  9. Remove from refrigerator and slice each roll into 1-inch rounds using a sharp serrated knife with a gentle sawing motion.
  10. Arrange slices in a bento box or lunch container. Serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to avoid tearing the tortilla. Chill the rolls before slicing to help them hold their shape. These taste even better the next day as flavors meld. For gluten-free, use gluten-free tortillas or large lettuce leaves. For dairy-free, replace cream cheese with hummus or avocado spread.
