A versatile and stunning fall snack featuring a light, airy whipped cream cheese dip infused with cinnamon, served with crisp apple slices, pretzels, nuts, and caramel.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, divided
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), washed and sliced
  • 1/2 cup pretzel rods or pretzel crisps
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts (walnuts or pecans), toasted
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or cherries
  • 1/2 cup cheese cubes (sharp cheddar or gouda)
  • 1/4 cup honeycomb or toffee bits
  • Optional: Slices of prosciutto or salami

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup caramel sauce, heavy cream, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes (or whisk vigorously by hand for 5 minutes) until light, fluffy, and smooth.
  3. Transfer the dip to a small serving bowl and drizzle the remaining 1/4 cup caramel sauce on top in a zigzag pattern.
  4. Wash, core, and slice apples into wedges. If not serving immediately, soak in cold water with lemon juice to prevent browning, then drain and pat dry.
  5. Toast raw nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant, then let cool completely.
  6. Place the dip bowl in the center of a large wooden board or platter.
  7. Arrange apple slices in a fan shape around the dip.
  8. Scatter pretzel rods around the edges and place cheese cubes in small piles near the apples.
  9. Fill empty spaces with clusters of nuts and dried fruit.
  10. Add honeycomb or toffee bits in small groups to create mounds.
  11. Adjust items for visual appeal and serve at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Slice apples just before serving to prevent browning. If the dip is too thick, add more heavy cream; if too thin, add more cream cheese. Serve at room temperature for best flavor.
