  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Optional: cumin powder, cayenne pepper, lemon zest, nutritional yeast

Instructions

  1. Drain and dry chickpeas thoroughly using paper towels or a clean kitchen towel (about 5 minutes).
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange chickpeas in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  5. Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 12 minutes, shaking the basket every 4 minutes for even cooking. Add 2-3 more minutes if needed to reach desired crispiness.
  6. Remove chickpeas and let cool for 2 minutes before serving. Adjust seasoning if desired.

Dry chickpeas thoroughly to ensure crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow even air circulation. Shake basket every 4 minutes during cooking.
