easy 3-ingredient summer dessert - featured image

A quick and simple summer dessert made with just three ingredients: Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, and fresh berries. Perfect for a refreshing, light treat on hot days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Greek yogurt (full-fat recommended, low-fat or dairy-free coconut yogurt optional)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1 cup (150 grams) fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
  • Optional: chopped mint leaves
  • Optional: pinch of lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Wash 1 cup (150 grams) of fresh berries under cold water and pat dry gently with a paper towel. If using strawberries, hull and slice them into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 1 cup (240 ml) of Greek yogurt with 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of honey or maple syrup. Stir gently until fully blended and smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
  3. Add the prepared berries to the yogurt mixture. Using a spatula or spoon, fold them in carefully to evenly distribute without crushing the fruit.
  4. If desired, add a pinch of lemon zest or a few chopped mint leaves on top for extra brightness and aroma.
  5. Serve immediately in small bowls or glasses, or cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes if you prefer it extra cold and slightly set.

Notes

Use full-fat Greek yogurt for best creaminess but low-fat or dairy-free coconut yogurt works as well. Fold berries gently to keep them whole and pretty. Chilling enhances flavor and texture but serving immediately is fine. If using frozen berries, thaw and drain well to avoid watering down the dessert. Optional add-ins include mint leaves and lemon zest for extra freshness.
