A quick and easy fall cocktail that combines crisp apple cider, smooth tequila, fresh lime, and a warm cinnamon sugar rim. Perfect for parties or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz tequila (blanco or reposado)
  • 3 oz fresh apple cider
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
  • ½ oz pure maple syrup or agave nectar (optional, to taste)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Ice (large cubes preferred)
  • Lime wedge (for rim)
  • Optional garnishes: thin apple slices, cinnamon stick, star anise

Instructions

  1. On a small plate, mix 2 tablespoons granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass, then dip the rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly. Tap off excess.
  2. Fill the prepared glass with ice (preferably large cubes).
  3. In a cocktail shaker (or mason jar), combine 2 oz tequila, 3 oz apple cider, 1 oz fresh lime juice, ½ oz orange liqueur, and ½ oz maple syrup or agave nectar (if using).
  4. Fill the shaker halfway with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the shaker feels frosty.
  5. Strain the margarita into the prepared glass over the ice.
  6. Garnish with a thin apple slice or cinnamon stick, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a party, mix the tequila, apple cider, lime juice, and orange liqueur in a pitcher and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Rim glasses and pour over ice when ready to serve. Use fresh apple cider (not apple juice) for best results. The cinnamon sugar rim is best applied just before serving to keep it crisp.
