Easy Gourmet Microwave Fudge - featured image

A quick and easy microwave fudge recipe perfect for last-minute gift boxes, especially for Father’s Day. This creamy, rich fudge uses simple ingredients and sets in just a few hours.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340 g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp (28 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional add-ins:
  • ½ cup (60 g) chopped nuts (toasted walnuts or pecans)
  • ½ cup (50 g) mini marshmallows
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling on top

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, letting the edges hang over for easy fudge removal (about 5 minutes).
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 12 oz (340 g) chocolate chips, 1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk, and 2 tbsp (28 g) softened unsalted butter.
  3. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir well. Continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until the mixture is smooth and glossy (about 2-3 minutes total). Avoid overheating to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  4. Stir in 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Fold in optional nuts or mini marshmallows if using.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle sea salt flakes on top if desired.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm to the touch.
  7. Use parchment edges to lift fudge from pan and cut into 1-inch (2.5 cm) squares. Arrange in gift box lined with parchment paper.

Notes

Stir often while microwaving to prevent scorching. Use softened butter for a silkier texture. If fudge is too soft after chilling, refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes. For dairy-free version, use coconut condensed milk and dairy-free chocolate chips.
