A quick and easy one-pan recipe featuring crispy bone-in chicken thighs glazed with a honey garlic butter sauce, roasted alongside tender broccoli florets for a wholesome, flavorful dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 46 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 3 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC).
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss 3 cups of broccoli florets with 1 tablespoon olive oil, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  3. Pat dry 4-6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon butter and a splash of olive oil to prevent burning.
  5. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy. Avoid moving them prematurely.
  6. Flip the chicken thighs and cook for an additional 3 minutes on the other side.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons honey, 4 minced garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar.
  8. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken in the skillet.
  9. Nestle the prepared broccoli florets around the chicken in the skillet, stirring gently to coat them with the sauce and butter.
  10. Transfer the entire skillet to the preheated oven. Roast for 15-18 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF (74ยฐC) and broccoli is tender with crispy edges.
  11. Carefully remove skillet from oven, add remaining 2 tablespoons butter, and spoon the melted butter and sauce over the chicken and broccoli for extra richness.
  12. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Spoon broccoli and pan sauce alongside the chicken on plates.

Notes

Pat chicken skin dry for extra crispiness. Avoid overcrowding the pan to prevent steaming. Add garlic with the sauce to avoid burning. Roast at high heat (425ยฐF) for best results. Let chicken rest 5 minutes before serving. For gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce. Dairy-free option: substitute butter with coconut oil or vegan margarine.
