easy simple frozen treats - featured image

A quick and easy recipe for refreshing frozen treats made with natural ingredients, perfect for cooling down on hot summer days. Customize with your favorite fruits, sweeteners, and optional herbs or yogurt.

Ingredients

  • Fresh or frozen fruit (berries like strawberries, blueberries, mango chunks, peaches, or watermelon)
  • Natural sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup), adjust to taste
  • Juice or liquid base (freshly squeezed orange juice, coconut water, or herbal tea)
  • Greek yogurt (optional, for creaminess and tang)
  • Fresh herbs (optional, mint or basil leaves)
  • Lemon or lime zest (1 teaspoon)

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop fresh fruit into small pieces. If using frozen fruit, no need to thaw unless blender struggles.
  2. Add fruit to blender with 1/4 cup (60 ml) of juice or coconut water per cup of fruit, 1-2 tablespoons of sweetener, 1 teaspoon lemon or lime zest, and optional herbs or yogurt. Blend until smooth and pourable but thick.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness or liquid as needed.
  4. Pour mixture into ice pop molds or cups, leaving a small gap at the top for expansion.
  5. Insert popsicle sticks or skewers in the center of each mold. If using cups, cover with foil and poke sticks through.
  6. Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight for best texture.
  7. To unmold, run warm water over the outside of molds for a few seconds and carefully pull out sticks. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe, fragrant fruit for best flavor. Adjust sweetener based on fruit sweetness. Freeze overnight for best texture. To speed freezing, use smaller molds or ice cube trays. Run warm water on molds to release popsicles easily.
