These colorful fruit skewers paired with a tangy honey lime yogurt dip are a quick, healthy, and festive treat perfect for summer gatherings and 4th of July celebrations.

  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks, fresh or canned (drained)
  • 1 cup red grapes, halved and seedless
  • 1 cup mango, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup kiwi, peeled and sliced into thick rounds
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (e.g., Fage)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup/agave nectar for vegan)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse all fresh fruit under cold water and gently pat dry. Hull and halve the strawberries, halve the grapes, peel and cube the mango and pineapple, and peel and slice the kiwi into thick rounds.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons honey, 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, 1 teaspoon lime zest, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (if using), and a pinch of salt. Whisk until smooth and creamy with no lumps. Taste and adjust sweetness or lime if needed.
  3. Thread the fruit pieces onto wooden or bamboo skewers in a colorful pattern—strawberry, blueberry, pineapple, grape, mango, kiwi—and repeat. Aim for about 5-6 pieces per skewer.
  4. Place the skewers on a serving platter, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to let the flavors meld and keep things cool. Chill the dip separately in a covered bowl.
  5. Serve the fruit skewers chilled with the honey lime yogurt dip on the side for dipping.

Notes

Soak wooden or bamboo skewers in water for 15 minutes if planning to grill to prevent burning. Use firm, ripe fruit for best texture. Assemble skewers the same day to avoid sogginess. For dairy-free, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut or almond yogurt. For a grilled twist, grill skewers 1-2 minutes per side on medium heat carefully.
