  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (or more to taste)
  • 4 slices crusty bread (sourdough or rustic country loaf), toasted
  • Optional: fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Toast your bread slices until golden and crisp, about 3-4 minutes in a toaster or 2-3 minutes per side in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Start mashing it gently with a fork.
  3. Drain and rinse the white beans. Add them to the bowl with the avocado and mash together until creamy but still slightly chunky, about 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in fresh lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, and minced garlic. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  5. Add red chili flakes and mix well to balance the heat and creaminess.
  6. Spread the mixture generously over the toasted bread slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro on top for garnish.
