Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 ยผ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ยฝ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, melted (for drizzle)
  • Black gel food coloring (for drizzle)
  • Toothpicks (for web pattern)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  2. In a large bowl, beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy (approx. 5 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Grease a 12-inch round springform pan. Press dough evenly into the pan.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes until edges are golden brown but center looks slightly soft.
  9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove ring and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Melt white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  11. Divide melted chocolate into two bowls; mix black gel food coloring into one.
  12. Place white and black icing into separate Ziplock bags with tiny corners cut off.
  13. Drizzle white icing in random squiggly lines over the cooled cookie.
  14. Drizzle black icing over the white icing in a similar pattern.
  15. Use a toothpick to drag from the center outward in straight lines (spokes), then drag in concentric circles to create the spiderweb effect.

Notes

Do not overbake; the center should look slightly soft as it will set while cooling. Use gel food coloring for the drizzle to prevent thinning the icing. Ensure the cookie is completely cool before icing to prevent sliding.
